Italian shipbuilder Cantiere delle Marche (CDM) has completed the delivery of the second vessel in its Flexplorer 146 series. This 44.5-meter explorer yacht, following the delivery of its sistership Maverick earlier this year, has left the Ancona facility and is currently in Santa Margherita Ligure on the Italian Riviera. Unlike her sisterships, Mat does not feature an A-Frame on the aft deck, a decision made at the request of her owner. This space is instead transformed into a large social area with sunbeds, fold-down bulwarks, and a jib crane hidden in the sundeck overhang. The yacht also has one less deck, subtle profile changes, and a customized internal layout.

The sale of the Flexplorer 146-35 was disclosed in November 2021, commissioned by a Swiss owner with a strong passion for big game fishing. The exterior design is by Sergio Cutolo/Hydro Tec, while the understated interiors are the work of Nauta Design, long-time collaborators of the yard. The interior design features a natural palette with bleached corrugated wood cabinetry, light linens, and loose furniture, and both the main and upper saloons have an asymmetric layout.

Mario Pedol, founder of Nauta Design, expressed satisfaction with the sixth successful collaboration with Cantiere delle Marche. He noted that the interiors are spacious and well-balanced, with large windows enhancing the indoor-outdoor connection and reflecting light that adds movement and depth to the clean forms and natural tones.

The yacht accommodates up to 10 guests and nine crew within its 475GT volume. It is powered by twin Caterpillar C32 Acert engines, allowing for over 5,000 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 10 knots. The low-resistance underbody and bulbous bow ensure comfort in rough seas and efficiency during long voyages.

Ennio Cecchini, executive chairman and co-founder of CDM, highlighted the exceptional capabilities of the Flexplorer line in transforming a semi-custom explorer yacht into a fully custom masterpiece. He emphasized the commercial success and the enhancement of their reputation in the yachting community, solidifying their position as leaders in explorer yacht construction.

This news follows the announcement that the third Flexplorer 146, commissioned by a young and enthusiastic owner, has begun outfitting.
