Celine Dion, known for her powerful vocals and lasting career, was visibly emotional and teary-eyed during the Monday night screening of her documentary, 'I Am: Celine Dion' in New York. The event, hosted at Lincoln Center's Alice Tully Hall, ended with a warm standing ovation from the attendees, as reported by Billboard. Dion expressed her gratitude, saying, 'Thank you from the depths of my heart for being part of my journey. This film is my love letter to all of you. I hope to meet you all again very soon.' Directed by Oscar-nominee Irene Taylor, the documentary delves deeply into Dion's life, particularly focusing on her struggle with Stiff Person Syndrome, also referred to as Moersch-Woltman Syndrome. Since her diagnosis in December 2022, Dion has mostly retreated from the public eye due to the severe muscle spasms and mobility issues caused by this condition. As a result, she had to delay and ultimately cancel her 2023 tour. In March, Dion used social media on International Stiff Person Syndrome Awareness Day to share her experiences, posting a heartfelt message along with a picture of her with her three sons. She wrote, 'Fighting this autoimmune disorder has been one of the toughest challenges of my life, but I am determined to return to the stage and lead as normal a life as possible someday.'
