Actor Christopher Judge, known for his role as Kratos in Sony's God of War series, has debunked a rumor concerning the future of the franchise. In a social media post, Judge clarified that reports claiming he hinted at upcoming news about the God of War series during a recent Instagram Live session are 'absolutely not true.' He emphasized, 'You can't tease something you know nothing about.'

During the Instagram Live, Judge mentioned that fans can expect announcements about his upcoming projects soon. He made no reference to God of War or Sony, yet some speculated that he might have been dropping hints about a new God of War project. Judge quashed these speculations by stating, 'I will be making announcements in the near future; I can guarantee none of them will be about OUR beloved God of War.' He added that, like the fans, he is also eagerly awaiting news about the series' future.

Sony's recent God of War saga, which delved into Norse mythology, comprised two games and will not be expanded into a trilogy. Judge played Kratos in both games, with Sunny Suljic portraying Atreus. Judge's performance earned him the Best Performance award at the 2022 Game Awards, and his heartfelt moment with Oscar-winner Al Pacino made headlines.

The last installment in the series was 2022's God of War Ragnarok, developed by Sony Santa Monica. The studio has not yet announced any new projects, but series veteran Cory Barlog has hinted at his next game, which could be a new intellectual property.
