Diablo 4 is embracing the Halloween spirit with a special limited-day event that rewards players with free cosmetic items simply for logging in. Throughout the event, participants can collect a total of four cosmetic items from the shop, and they will also encounter a unique type of Shrine thanks to the Meat or Treat event. Announced in a recent blog post, the event spans from October 29 to November 5, with a fresh free item being added to the shop daily from October 29 to November 1. Each day at 12 PM PT / 3 PM ET, a new item will be unveiled, featuring a new mount, mount armor, and two mount trophies that can be claimed. These items will remain available for claim until the event concludes.
In addition to the free cosmetics, there is a mini in-game event called Meat or Treat, which introduces a twist to the Shrines found in Diablo 4's dungeons. Although the blog post does not detail the exact changes, Shrines in dungeons may now have additional effects, including one that offers 'unexpected riches' and another that seems to involve The Butcher, a formidable boss enemy that occasionally appears in dungeons. Based on the description, it appears that the unfavorable outcome could summon The Butcher, potentially leading to a quick demise.
Diablo 4's inaugural expansion, Vessel of Hatred, was released earlier this month alongside Season 6. The latest expansion brings a new campaign, area, class, and various activities to the loot-focused ARPG. To commemorate the launch, Blizzard is allowing players to send sinister flowers to both friends and foes.
