Dubai Customs thwarted an extensive effort to illegally transport a consignment of the narcotic Pregabalin through sophisticated customs systems, as declared on Thursday.
The illicit substance, totaling 1,100 kilograms, was concealed within 40 barrels amidst incoming air freight. This occurred post-arrival at the air freight hub, where customs officials scrutinized the accompanying paperwork and verified it against the cargo.
Upon meticulous examination, it became evident that the confiscated material is classified as a controlled substance under UAE law. Promptly, the General Department of Anti-Narcotics at Dubai Police was informed, and legal actions were commenced against the implicated parties in the presence of representatives from both Dubai Customs and Dubai Police departments.
