Six golfers from Dubai are part of a select group of 60 golfers representing 32 nations set to compete in the Men’s Competition at the 2024 Olympics. This 72-hole individual strokeplay tournament is scheduled to take place at Le Golf National’s renowned Albatros course between August 1 and 14, 2024. This prestigious venue previously hosted the 2018 Ryder Cup and has been the site of the DP World Tour’s Open de France on 28 occasions. The Dubai-based contingent includes Thorbjorn Oleson (Denmark), Gagunjeet Bhullar (India), Guido Migliozzi (Italy), and Adrian Meronk (Poland). Leading the men’s Olympic rankings is Scottie Scheffler, winner of the 2022 Masters and 2023 PLAYERS Championship. Scheffler, a PGA TOUR rookie in 2020, is set to make his Olympic debut. The US Open served as the last qualifying event for the Olympic Golf Ranking (OGR) points. The lowest-ranked player in the field is Fabrizio Zanotti of Paraguay, standing at 343 in the OGR. Golf’s Olympic comeback occurred in 2016, after a 112-year hiatus. The gold, silver, and bronze medals to be awarded in France will mark the fifth set for men and the fourth for women.
