Dubai Police confiscated eleven vehicles for various road violations, which included reckless driving, organizing unauthorized rallies, and endangering one's own life or that of others. The violations also encompassed vehicles causing road disturbances, creating disorder, making unauthorized modifications to the vehicle's engine or chassis, disturbing residents, and littering on public roads.
Major General Saif Muhair Al Mazrouei, Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police, highlighted that the police force acted swiftly in response to these behaviors. He clarified that the law mandates the impounding of vehicles and legal action against violators, emphasizing that there will be no tolerance for such actions.
Major General Al Mazrouei also mentioned that Decree No. 30 of 2023, which deals with traffic violations and vehicle impoundment, penalizes reckless drivers who jeopardize their safety and that of others, with a Dh50,000 fine imposed for the release of an impounded vehicle.
The Director of the General Department of Traffic at Dubai Police further cautioned motorists of all vehicle types against reckless and dangerous driving. He stressed that the law holds accountable those who endanger their own lives or the lives of others and those who damage the roads.
Major General Al Mazrouei assured the public that police officers will not show leniency in taking action against violators to ensure the safety of all road users. He also urged community members to report any observed negative behaviors through the 'Police Eye' feature in the Dubai Police app or by contacting the 'We Are All Police' service at 901.
