For the first time, numerous cyclists had the chance to race down Sheikh Zayed Road as part of the Dubai Ride. The speed laps feature, introduced exclusively for experienced cyclists, commenced at 5am. Open only to those aged 21 and above, these laps mandated participants to maintain an average speed of 30km/hr to traverse the 12km Sheikh Zayed Road route, which extended from Dubai World Trade Centre to Safa Park and back. Riders were required to exit the route by 6am.
As part of the Dubai Fitness Challenge, the Dubai Ride is back for its fifth edition this year, transforming Sheikh Zayed Road into a magnificent cycling track. Last year, the event saw 35,000 participants.
