A 6.7-magnitude earthquake struck New Ireland in Papua Guinea on Friday, November 15, according to the UAE's National Seismic Network of the National Centre of Meteorology (NCM). The tremor occurred at 9:28am UAE time.

Additionally, a 2.2-magnitude earthquake was recorded off the Musandam Coast at 3:28am UAE time, as reported by the National Seismic Network. This tremor was not felt in the country and had no impact.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday morning, a 5.3-magnitude earthquake shook Pakistan's Islamabad and several areas of neighboring Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, including Peshawar, according to Geo News. The earthquake tremors were felt in Mohmand, Shabqadar, Attock, Malakand, Swat, Shangla, Buner, and Abbottabad.

These earthquakes were not felt in the UAE. However, there are instances when tremors from nearby regions can be felt in the country, even though the UAE is not located in a major earthquake zone. This is because the country is situated near the Zagros mountain range, one of the most active seismic regions in the world.
