Emirates has announced the resumption of its flights to Edinburgh, marking the return of the airline's service to the Scottish capital after a hiatus since 2020. A Boeing 777 touched down in Edinburgh on Tuesday, signaling the revival of daily flights. This new service complements Emirates' existing A380 daily flight to Glasgow, offering a total of 14 weekly flights between the UAE and Scotland.

The daily flight from Dubai to Edinburgh departs at 2.50pm UAE time, arriving in Edinburgh at 7.05pm. The return flight leaves Edinburgh at 8.40pm and lands in Dubai at 08.05am. Adnan Kazim, Emirates' Deputy President and Chief Commercial Officer, highlighted the enhanced travel experience for Scottish customers, initially with the Boeing 777, followed by the highly anticipated A350. With 14 weekly flights, passengers can easily connect to popular long-haul destinations such as Thailand, Australia, and Dubai.

Emirates stated that the resumption of flights to Edinburgh will significantly boost tourism in Scotland. According to Visit Scotland, the country welcomed four million international visitors in 2023, a 23% increase from 2022, contributing £3.59 billion to the economy. Additionally, the daily flight will enhance cargo capacity, allowing Emirates SkyCargo to transport 16 tonnes of cargo per flight, supporting local businesses and strengthening trade links with global markets.

Emirates operates 133 weekly flights across eight UK gateways, including London Heathrow, London Gatwick, London Stansted, Manchester, Birmingham, Newcastle, and Glasgow, utilizing a fleet mix of A380 and Boeing 777 aircraft.
