Dubai-based entrepreneurs Valentino Bilantuono and Grace Rueegger both hail from hardworking families that migrated from Italy to Switzerland in the early 1960s. Valentino and Grace attended the same school, where they became close friends over time. They later discovered that their grandparents originated from the same region in northern Italy. By 2023, they had established Oakstreet27 Partners in Dubai Silicon Oasis, focusing on visionary initiatives, breakthrough solutions, and business consultancy. They recently introduced Matchudo, a pioneering global business matchmaking platform for startup founders and investors, as highlighted by Grace, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Oakstreet27 Partners.
The company's name, inspired by the German 'Eichenweg 27' ('Eiche' meaning oak in English), reflects the street name in a Zurich suburb where the idea was conceived. Valentino, Co-Founder and Managing Partner, emphasized the importance of their mutual support and continuous innovation in thriving in Dubai's dynamic business environment.
Grace and Valentino, with backgrounds in legal and finance respectively, complemented each other's skills. Grace is multilingual, fluent in English, German, Italian, and French, while Valentino, with an IT education, gained extensive experience in finance roles in Switzerland before relocating to Dubai. Their business acumen was honed through continuous learning and practical experience.
Initially visiting the UAE as tourists in 2012, both were drawn back repeatedly, feeling the region's potential for entrepreneurial success. This ultimately led to their decision to base their company in the UAE, attracted by its supportive environment for innovation and business growth.
