Final Fantasy XIV's patch 7.1 update, titled Crossroads, is set to launch on November 12, bringing a substantial amount of new content. The main scenario quest in Crossroads involves the Warrior of Light and their allies as they assist the people of two worlds in moving forward. The game's inaugural raid is a crossover with Final Fantasy XI, named 'Echoes of Vana'diel - Jeuno: The First Walk,' and supports 24-player battle content.
Additionally, players can look forward to a new dungeon called 'Yuweyawata Field Station,' a new trial titled 'The Minstrel's Ballad: Sphene's Burden,' and an eight-player ultimate raid known as 'Futures Rewritten.' For those seeking a greater challenge, Chaotic Alliance Raids will be introduced, offering harder versions of existing alliance raids. One week after the release of sub-patch 7.15, the 'Cloud of Darkness (Chaotic)' raid will become available.
Unreal trials, which are older trials scaled up to the maximum level, will also see a new addition: 'The Jade Stoa.' Furthermore, the Hall of the Novice, a series of basic training tutorials for the game's combat mechanics, will receive an update, introducing a variety of new exercises and challenges.
Crossroads marks Final Fantasy XIV's first story patch since the Dawntrail expansion launched in July on PC, PlayStation, and Xbox. The game's enduring popularity, now bolstered by its recent release on Xbox, has prompted Square Enix to consider bringing more games to Microsoft's platform in the future.
