The Fortnite servers are currently down, but rest assured, this is all part of the grand plan. Fortnite's servers will be back online shortly, and here's everything you need to know in the meantime.
With Fortnite's latest Marvel-themed season drawing to a close, it's time to turn our attention to what's next. Fortnite Remix Chapter 2 is on the horizon, promising a nostalgic journey for long-time fans. Similar to Fortnite OG last November, this upcoming season is set to revisit the original Chapter 2 island, complete with era-appropriate skins, weapons, loot, and more.
When the servers do come back online, it will mark the beginning of this year's major Remix season. However, Epic Games has already announced that this season will only last for a month before another Chapter finale event introduces a new island in December. For some players, the return of the Chapter 2 map will be even more significant than the OG map last year, but for now, all we can do is wait for Epic to bring Fortnite back online.
But when exactly will that be? Unfortunately, there's no straightforward answer, as there's no set time for this maintenance window to conclude. Typically, a new Fortnite season starts between 7 AM and 10 AM ET on launch day—in this case, November 2—though there have been notable exceptions. Earlier this year, a technical issue kept the game offline until late evening, with Fortnite being down for nearly a full day. However, such an occurrence is rare and not something to expect regularly.
Once the game is back up, Fortnite Remix Chapter 2 will bring a plethora of changes, including a new (or rather, returning) map inspired by Chapter 2, vehicles that fit the era—or perhaps no vehicles initially, as cars weren't introduced until Chapter 2 Season 3—and a new Remix Chapter 2 Pass that is likely to feature mash-ups of some of that era's beloved characters, such as Meowscles and Midas combined into one.
When the servers are finally back up, we'll provide a comprehensive roundup of all the new features in Fortnite Remix Chapter 2 right here.
