Social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter, faced global outages on Wednesday, as reported by outage tracking website Downdetector.com. Users in the UAE also encountered issues while accessing the platform. According to Downdetector, the peak of reported outages in the Emirates occurred at 7am. The live outage map indicated that the majority of problems were reported by users in Dubai and Abu Dhabi as of 7.40am. Approximately 60% of users experienced issues with their feed, 20% had difficulty logging in, and another 20% faced challenges while posting content. Over 36,500 outage reports were received from the U.S. at the peak of the incident, according to Downdetector.com. Additionally, Downdetector recorded over 3,300 outage reports from Canada and 1,600 from the UK as of 11.20 PM ET. The cause of the outage remains unknown, and X has not yet responded to Reuters' request for comment outside of regular business hours.
