Hoosier, a tire manufacturer renowned for its racing tires, has recently introduced its inaugural street-legal rubber, dubbed the TrackAttack Pro. This new tire is engineered to perform exceptionally well in dry conditions and can be used both on the road and the track, thanks to its 200-treadwear rating.
"This was uncharted territory for us," remarked Hoosier CEO and President Joerg Burfien. The company leveraged its racing expertise to "push the boundaries of what a street-legal tire" can achieve, aiming to create a tire that offers both track performance and everyday street drivability.
Hoosier showcased the TrackAttack Pro in a brief promotional video, emphasizing its optimized center rib for enhanced braking performance and the extra-wide shoulder for improved cornering capabilities. The tire is available in 46 sizes, suitable for rims ranging from 15 to 21 inches in diameter, entering a competitive market that includes rivals like the Bridgestone RE-71RS, Yokohama A052, and Falken RT660.
As tire technology advances, more options in this category and others focused on performance are becoming available, benefiting customers. "It's designed for enthusiasts who want to drive to the track, dominate their laps, and drive home on the same set of tires," Burfien explained. The true test, however, will be how the TrackAttack Pro stacks up against its competitors.
