The Italian Sea Group has provided an exclusive look inside the 88-metre Project Spyder, currently under construction at the Admiral shipyard in Carrara, Italy since February 2024. Designed by Espen Øino, this 3,000GT yacht will be the second-largest vessel built under the Admiral brand. The yacht was sold in 2023, with Kitson Yachts representing the American owner and overseeing the build until its scheduled delivery in 2027. Richard Hein and The A Group are also contributing to the construction process.
Project Spyder boasts several remarkable features, such as a 10.3-metre-long swimming pool with glass floor segments that allow natural light to illuminate the 100-square-metre beach club below. The foredeck will feature a sports court suitable for pickleball or basketball, complemented by an observatory suite that doubles as a children's playroom. The sundeck is equipped with a gym and Jacuzzi, while the beach club offers a massage room, spa, bar, and direct water access via four unfolding sea terraces.
With a beam of 13.8 metres and a five-deck layout, the yacht can accommodate up to nine guests, including a full-beam owner's cabin with a private terrace. The dedicated tender storage will house an 8.5-metre and a 10-metre tender. This marks the first collaboration between the Admiral shipyard and Espen Øino, with FM Architettura leading the interior design, which maximizes the yacht's beam.
FM Architettura Design Studio expressed their delight in being part of the Spyder project, designed for a close-knit multigenerational family. Michael Tabor, co-founder of Kitson Yachts, highlighted the seamless transition between the exterior and interior, emphasizing the family's active role in the build process. Tabor also acknowledged the late Giuseppe Taranto's significant contributions to the project.
Project Spyder will be powered by a diesel-electric propulsion system. Additionally, Admiral is constructing the 98-metre Project Titanium, set to be the Italian Sea Group's future flagship, and the 82-metre Project Galileo, both scheduled for delivery in 2025.
