The Iranian army reported that two soldiers were killed in Israeli air strikes on military installations within the Islamic republic on Saturday, as per a statement broadcasted by state television. "The army of the Islamic Republic of Iran lost two of its fighters during the night when they confronted projectiles from the criminal Zionist regime while defending their territory," the statement conveyed.
Israel claimed it targeted military sites in Iran early on Saturday in response to Tehran's attacks on Israel earlier this month, marking the latest incident in the intensifying conflict between the heavily armed adversaries. Iranian media documented multiple explosions spanning several hours in the capital and at nearby military bases, commencing shortly after 2am (2230 GMT on Friday).
Before daybreak, Israel's public broadcaster announced that three waves of strikes had concluded and that the operation had ended.
