“Vanderpump Rules” star James Kennedy was seen in public for the first time after his domestic violence arrest became public. The reality TV star, who is no longer part of the show as Season 12 introduces a new cast, was photographed picking up an UberEats delivery outside his and girlfriend Ally Lewber’s home in Burbank, Calif., on Thursday.
Kennedy was dressed in a gray hoodie sweatshirt that read, “See You Next Tuesday,” the name of the event he created and frequently hosts at Lisa Vanderpump’s SUR restaurant. As previously reported, police were called to Kennedy’s home due to an argument between Kennedy, 32, and an unidentified woman on Tuesday. According to TMZ, witnesses who observed the altercation claimed Kennedy “grabbed” the woman, though officers did not find any visible injuries on her.
Kennedy and Lewber, 28, were attending Kathy Hilton’s Christmas party on the night of the incident. The woman involved in the alleged altercation has not been identified. Kennedy was arrested for misdemeanor domestic violence and later released on a $20,000 bail. His attorneys issued a statement on his behalf on Friday.
“We are conducting our own investigation into the allegations made by the Burbank Police Department against James,” the statement obtained by People read. “We understand that there were no injuries, and we hope that, after careful review, the city’s attorneys will decide not to file formal charges.” The investigation concluded it was a domestic incident, leading to Kennedy’s arrest. He was booked for misdemeanor domestic violence and later posted bail. Formal charges are pending review by the Burbank City Attorney’s office.
Lewber has not yet commented on the incident, but Kennedy’s exes, Kristen Doute and Raquel Leviss, have. A source close to the pair told The Post that Lewber’s close friends were “concerned” about her relationship with Kennedy when they started dating in 2022, based on his behavior shown on the Bravo series.
On Thursday, Doute, 41, shared a screenshot of TMZ’s story on the matter and wrote “FINALLY.” Leviss, on her part, spoke out through her attorneys on Friday. The couple was together for five years but split in December 2021, ending their seven-month engagement.
“We are aware of James Kennedy’s recent arrest for domestic violence. This news is, unfortunately, not surprising,” Leviss’ attorneys, Mark Geragos and Bryan Freedman, told Us Weekly in a statement. “Rachel’s [revenge porn] lawsuit details, in significant detail, Mr. Kennedy’s long history of erratic, violent behavior and substance abuse.” In March, Leviss, 30, sued former “VPR” co-stars Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval for revenge porn, eavesdropping, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress following “Scandoval.” The term was coined after Leviss and Sandoval’s affair, which led to his split from long-term partner Madix.
