Actor, screenwriter, and director Jenna Mirza Mattison is currently adapting Anita Moorjani's best-selling memoir, Dying to Be Me, as reported by Deadline. Released by Hay House Inc. in September 2014, the memoir recounts Moorjani's miraculous recovery from fatal cancer shortly after experiencing a near-death event. Having battled cancer for several years, Moorjani's body started to fail. As her organs declined, she underwent a near-death experience where she uncovered the real cause of her illness. Upon awakening, Moorjani's health rapidly improved, leading to her release from the hospital with no trace of cancer. The film adaptation has been in progress since 2020.
