Grammy-winning rapper Lil Durk has been implicated in a murder-for-hire scheme targeting rapper Quando Rondo, allegedly in retaliation for the 2020 killing of emerging artist King Von in Atlanta. The 'All My Life' hitmaker, whose real name is Durk Derrick Banks, is currently detained at Broward County Jail in Florida without bond.

Federal charges have been filed against Kavon London Grant, Deandre Dontrell Wilson, Keith Jones, David Brian Lindsey, and Asa Houston, according to an indictment obtained by TMZ from the US District Court in Los Angeles. Prosecutors claim that all five individuals have connections to the rap group 'Only the Family' (OTF), which Lil Durk founded in 2010.

Although the 32-year-old Chicago native is not named as a defendant, he has strongly refuted allegations that OTF is a gang. Authorities allege that the men orchestrated the August 2022 shooting in Los Angeles as a direct response to King Von's death. Von was fatally shot by Quando Rondo's associate Lul Timm following a dispute.

The indictment states that the men allegedly used an OTF-linked credit card to buy plane tickets to Los Angeles in August 2022, with the intention of locating Quando Rondo. Once in Los Angeles, Grant reportedly booked a hotel room and provided firearms to the group. Grant also rented two cars used to track Rondo and his cousin, Saviay'a Robinson.

After stopping for gas, Houston allegedly drove into a nearby alley, where Jones, Lindsey, and an unidentified third man carried out the shooting. While Rondo escaped injury, Robinson was fatally wounded. Following the incident, the defendants reportedly discussed payment at a nearby eatery. The same day, the credit card was used to purchase return tickets for Wilson, Jones, Lindsey, and Houston to travel back to Chicago.

Jones and Houston are scheduled for hearings in Chicago on Monday, while Grant, Wilson, and Lindsey have waived their right to a hearing and will be transported to Los Angeles. Lil Durk's representatives have not yet commented on the matter.

This is not Lil Durk's first encounter with the law. He previously faced five felony charges related to a February 2019 shooting. After surrendering to police in May 2019, he was charged with criminal attempt to commit murder, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during a felony, and gang activity. Lil Durk, who was part of XXL Magazine's 2014 'Freshman Class' alongside Chance the Rapper and Rich Homie Quan, became a Grammy-winning rapper earlier this year for his track 'All My Life,' having previously received four nominations.
