With a whole world to explore and numerous aircraft to do so in, you'd expect Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 to be a technically demanding game when it takes off this year. While you can engage in some digital tourism on a modest PC setup, if you aim to play the game on its minimum or recommended specs, you'll need a powerful rig to handle it in an 'ideal' state.

Developer Asobo Studio has disclosed the minimum, recommended, and ideal system requirements for its flight simulation game. While the first two tiers aren't too extreme, the top-tier experience is quite demanding. The developer suggests hardware like a 40-series Nvidia GPU with 12GB of VRAM and 64GB of RAM, along with a stable 100Mbps internet connection to stream all its high-resolution assets.

The good news is that this cloud-centric approach means Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 will have a smaller footprint on your storage device. Compared to the previous game that required up to 150GB, you'll only need 50GB for this year's aerial tour. The high RAM and bandwidth requirements will facilitate quick asset streaming, ensuring high-fidelity graphics.

Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 is set to launch on November 19 and will also be available for Xbox Series X|S. One of the new features is a career mode, allowing aspiring aviators to pursue various professions, from private pilots to mountain rescue specialists. The game will be available for Game Pass Ultimate subscribers on day one, but if you prefer a physical bundle, a $130 Premium Deluxe Edition is available for preorder, packed with bonus content.
