Two Rafale fighter jets collided midair and crashed in northeastern France on Wednesday, according to civil and military authorities. A search operation for one of the crews is currently ongoing. The two jets were stationed at the Saint-Dizier air base, as confirmed by an air force spokesman in Paris to AFP. One pilot managed to eject himself, but an instructor and a student pilot from the second aircraft remain unaccounted for.
"We are still searching for the second crew," the spokesman stated. The incident took place in Colombey-les-Belles, a town located in northeastern France, as reported by the prefecture.
