After an 11-year hiatus, Path of Exile 2 made a strong debut earlier this month with its early-access launch. Despite the overwhelmingly positive response from fans, developer Grinding Gear Games has already begun incorporating player feedback for post-launch adjustments. In a recent update on the game's official website, the developer highlighted that several critical issues have been resolved with a new patch, while others are slated for future updates.
One of the areas Grinding Gear Games is approaching with caution is the frequency of item drops. To enhance player rewards, the number of rare monsters has been increased, with more valuable loot available from defeating the exceptionally challenging rare monsters that appear later in the game. Some of the planned adjustments for a future patch include modifications to the dodge-roll mechanic to make it easier to evade monster traps, the introduction of teleportation between saved checkpoints, an increase in the number of checkpoints, and a change to the minimap that will display rare monsters when there are 200 remaining, rather than 50.
Grinding Gear Games previously confirmed that Path of Exile 2 supports cross-play and cross-progression across PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S. The developer also emphasized that the sequel is not replacing the original Path of Exile. Earlier this month, Path of Exile 2 surpassed 1 million players during its early access phase. The patch notes for Path of Exile 2's 0.1.0c update are detailed below.
