Get ready to start collecting your digital booster packs because the Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket is now available on iOS and Android devices. This new app allows players to collect and battle from their phones, as well as dive into immersive digital cards.
Pokemon Trading Card Game Pocket will provide players with two free booster packs daily. These packs are opened with a simple swipe, mimicking the experience of tearing the top off a real booster pack. The app also offers customization options for cards, including display boards and flair. Alongside classic cards, the game features unique cards exclusive to this digital experience.
The launch trailer, which can be seen below, showcases a player exploring an immersive card featuring Pikachu. Announced in February, the app aims to streamline the trading card game experience for mobile devices. One of the features includes battling with auto-building assistance and rental decks. The first expansion, Genetic Apex, includes Pokemon from the Kanto region.
It's important to note that this new app is different from Pokemon Trading Card Game Live, which was released last year on PC and mobile devices. The latter offers a full digital recreation of the Trading Card Game experience.
Looking ahead, the franchise is set to launch Pokemon Legends Z-A on Switch sometime next year. This game is set in Lumiose City, a hub setting from Pokemon X and Y, which originally released on the 3DS.
