Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are adopting a new strategy to revitalize their public image, according to a royal commentator. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are reportedly experiencing a professional rift, with recent reports indicating that their working relationship is in a dire state.
In an effort to regain their public standing, the couple has chosen an experimental PR approach that involves making solo public appearances, as noted by royal commentator Richard Fitzwilliams. "This is clearly a new tactic. Like any brand, the Sussexes aim to promote their brand as effectively as possible," Fitzwilliams stated on GB News. "They have attempted a method that proved successful during their royal tours of Nigeria and Colombia. Now, they are experimenting with solo engagements."
Over the past few months, both Harry, 40, and Meghan, 43, have been spotted attending various events independently. Harry recently participated in a series of Invictus Games-related events in Vancouver, Canada, while Meghan attended a beauty launch event with her celebrity friends without her husband.
The couple did, however, appear together in a video for Veteran's Day earlier this month, where Harry acknowledged they had been "at a crossroads" with their work. In the video, they discussed prioritizing children's safety online through their Archewell Foundation, marking their first joint appearance in months.
Fitzwilliams continued, "There is no doubt that when it comes to Invictus and the personal touch, this approach works, especially with Harry. Clearly, they are finding that going solo is effective at the moment. It depends on their objectives; Harry has his POLO series coming out soon."
The Post has contacted representatives for the Sussexes for comment. The couple is expected to attend the 2025 Invictus Games in Canada, scheduled from February 8 to February 16. This event follows the 2023 games held in Germany. At last year's games, Meghan hinted that they might bring their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet, to the next event.
