Dubai-born Indian golfer Rayhan Thomas is basking in the glow of a significant career milestone after securing his place in the next stage of the DP World Tour Qualifying School. Thomas concluded Stage One at Donnington Grove Golf Club in Newbury, England, with a final round of 70, setting the stage for an exhilarating few months that could define his professional golfing future. "This week has been a fantastic boost for me," he expressed. "It’s set me up for an exciting few months that will shape the future of my professional career. I’m looking forward to seeing where I’ll be playing in 2025!"

Thomas showcased consistent golf throughout the week, with rounds of 68, 72, 71, and 70, culminating in a seven-under-par finish for the 72-hole event. "Today was a good day. A difficult start with the pins a bit tougher. I was hitting the ball well – and I always had the confidence that the putts would eventually drop and they did," remarked the 24-year-old, who recently turned pro and represents Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht Club.

Despite a challenging start on Hole one, where he found himself three over par after seven holes, Thomas rallied with a birdie on Hole eight, turning in 38. A stellar back nine of 32, featuring birdies on holes 11, 13, 15, and 18, and pars on the remaining holes, saw him finish tied 10th. The top 21 players and ties advanced to Stage Two qualifiers in Spain, scheduled for October 31st – November 3rd, 2024.

Thomas's performance, marked by 15 birdies and eight bogeys over 72 holes, underscores his growing consistency and solid form. His knack for minimizing errors and regularly shooting under par highlights his potential to remain competitive on the global golf stage. Maintaining this level of play will be crucial as he aims to climb the ranks and establish himself as a top-tier player.

The first-place tie at 13 under par was claimed by Calum Fyfe (Scot) and Tim Tillmanns (Ger), who took the medalist honors. The Qualifying Cut fell at five under par, with two players tying in the 21st spot. For more information, visit: www.europeantour.com.
