Dubai native Rayhan Thomas scored rounds of 72 and 64, totaling 136, four under par, to secure his spot in the $1 million Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Kansas Wichita Open at Crestview Country Club in Kansas, spanning 6,910 yards on the Korn Ferry Tour in the US. Thomas began with a 72, two over par, in challenging winds. His second round, with milder breezes, saw him start from tee 10, birdieing his initial hole and completing the turn in 32 after birdies on 14 and 18. He added four more birdies and one bogey on his second nine, resulting in a 64 and a tied 47th position. Thomas expressed his satisfaction with his performance and hopes for a strong weekend to elevate his standings. He emphasized focusing on building confidence and being aggressive rather than just aiming to make the cut. His strategy paid off, and he felt secure after seeing his position on the leaderboard. Thomas, 24, turned pro this month after completing a five-year golf scholarship at OSU and has already made significant strides in his career. The tournament features notable players aiming for the top spot, with the third round scheduled for Saturday.
