Brythonic Yachts has unveiled a revamped version of its 89-metre explorer yacht concept, named Lontano. Initially introduced in 2021 as a conversion project utilizing an X-Bow supply ship hull, the decision has now been made to construct Lontano from the ground up. Delivery is anticipated within 36 months of commissioning. The concept has also undergone an extension from its original 78 metres.
Lontano will be built using Lloyds Grade A steel, featuring a robust exterior with bold lines, extensive glazing on the aft deck, and an axe bow. The explorer yacht is equipped with a variety of amenities, including a beach club, gym, swimming pool, spa, and helipad. A fold-out balcony offers a unique viewpoint, even while at sea, allowing guests to enjoy expansive views. Outdoor areas are designed for relaxation, with ample lounging spaces distributed across multiple decks, including large sunpads on the sun deck. Floor-to-ceiling windows enhance the modern aesthetic, facilitating seamless transitions between interior and exterior spaces, according to the shipyard.
Accommodation includes an owner's suite, 10 guest cabins, 13 crew cabins, and a separate captain's cabin. Although renderings are not yet released, the interiors will be designed by Bassan&Benedetti, who previously collaborated with BOAT International on the 80-metre conversion concept Kestrel. The shipyard also promises a high degree of customization, allowing clients to work directly with Brythonic Yachts' design and naval architecture teams to tailor the vessel to their personal preferences.
Lontano will be powered by a pair of 4,500hp multi-fuel marine turbines, offering a top speed of 16 knots and a cruising speed of 12 knots. Brythonic Yachts recently partnered with Alpha Tango Yachts on a 49.7-metre concept named LUX, which will be constructed at Sea Horse Yachts' facilities in Sri Lanka, currently under development.
