From August 23 to 25, 2024, the Shams eSports Championship will be organized, as announced by Sharjah Media City (Shams). The event will run from 4pm to 10pm across three days, featuring FIFA 24 on the first day, Tekken 8 on the second, and Super Smash Bros on the third. The total prize pool stands at Dh30,000, with Dh10,000 awarded daily to the top six players in each game. Approximately 300 players are anticipated to compete. The championship will take place at the Shams Business Centre, in collaboration with Sharjah Summer Promotions. Alia Al Suwaidi, Acting Director of Media Projects Development at Sharjah Media City, emphasized that the Shams E-Sports Championship is a significant step towards positioning Sharjah as a prominent hub for the gaming and e-sports sector. She noted that Shams is committed to nurturing the talents of the younger generation and fostering their development. Al Suwaidi further highlighted that the Shams E-Sports Championship offers a unique blend of skill, excitement, and competitive spirit within an unmatched entertainment environment.
