In the midst of escalating temperatures nationwide, authorities in Sharjah provided complimentary medical examinations for over 3,300 construction workers, alongside additional measures to shield them from the heat.
As a segment of the heat exhaustion prevention initiative in Sharjah, themed 'your safety is our goal' and active until August 15, the Ministry of Health and Prevention (MoHAP) and the Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs, in collaboration with governmental, local, and private sector partners, are focusing on 6,000 workers across various districts in the city. The ongoing campaign includes medical screenings, informative sessions, token gifts, and a first-aid training program for the workers. It encompasses locations such as Al Hamriyah city, Al Dhaid, Kalba University, Al Hamriyah Cultural and Sports Club, and Al Dhaid Cultural and Sports Club.
The objective of this initiative is to elevate the standard of living for workers and inhabitants in the city and safeguard them during the summer months. Mohamed Abdul Allah Al Zarooni, the Director of the Ministry's Representative Office in Sharjah, emphasized that the program offers preventive advice, distributes essential supplies, and conducts free medical assessments and health consultations to promptly identify and manage heat-related conditions. Eman Rashid Saif, the Director of the Health Promotion Department at the Sharjah Supreme Council for Family Affairs, highlighted that this effort underscores the dedication of all collaborating entities to enhancing the quality of life and advancing public health within the community.
