The early years and education of Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid

After getting his education at Cambridge Language School, Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid returned to Dubai. Around the same time, he was appointed the head of the Dubai Police and Defense Forces. These later became a part of the United Arab Emirates Armed Forces.
During this period, Sheikh Rashid was responsible not only for the defense of Dubai, but also for the creation and dynamic development of many companies and assets of the Emirate. Today, many of them are a part of Rashid Al Maktoum's ownership.
Crown Prince
On January 3, 1995, Sheikh Mohammed was granted the title of heir to the throne. The relevant decree was signed by Mohammed bin Rashid's older brother, Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum. It is also rumored that already during these years, the Sheikh's brother's condition began to deteriorate noticeably. Because of this, he subsequently handed over most of the powers to Sheikh Mohammed.
Taking office as Emir of Dubai, Vice President and Prime Minister
On January 4, 2006, Sheikh Mohammed was officially declared the Emir of Dubai. The reason for this was the death of his elder brother. Despite the fact that the post of Emir Rashid Al Maktoum took only at the age of 57, he began the actual rule of the city 11 years ago with the title of crown prince.
The next day, the newly minted Emir of Dubai was promoted to two more positions by decree of the President of the Arab Emirates. After the collective approval of the members of the country's federal national council, Sheikh Rashid became prime minister and vice president.
Private life of His Highness
It is not only the political life of the Sheikh that is of special interest, but also his family life. Back in 1979, Mohammed bin Rashid married Hind Bint Maktoum, who is his cousin. There is not much information about her. It is known that Hind Bint Maktoum is the first lady of Dubai and the oldest of all Sheikh Mohammed’s wives.
Hind Bint Maktoum gave birth to 12 children to the Sheikh of the Emirate of Dubai. The oldest of them was born a year after the marriage, in 1980. The youngest was born in 2002.
On April 10, 2004, the Emir, Vice President and Prime Minister of Dubai married Princess Haya, daughter of the previous King of Jordan and sister of King Abdullah II. The marriage lasted 15 years, and during that time Princess Haya bore two children: daughter Al Jalilah and son Zayed.
