The Digital Deluxe Edition of Sonic X Shadow Generations has officially launched today, October 22. PC gamers can acquire a Steam key for $52.19, which is a reduction from the original price of $60, through Fanatical to begin playing immediately. However, the standard edition is scheduled for release this Friday, October 25, across PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and PC platforms. The physical version, priced at $50, includes a unique collectible, and all preorders come with a classic skin as a bonus. Fanatical is also providing a preorder discount for the standard edition on PC.
The new game incorporates a remastered version of Sonic Generations, initially released on Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2011, along with a fresh story campaign centered around Shadow the Hedgehog. Preordering the game grants you the Sonic Adventure Legacy skin, inspired by Sonic's 3D appearance in Sonic Adventure on the Sega Dreamcast. The physical editions available at launch feature a collectible replica of Gerald Robotnik's Journal, offering insights into the creation of Shadow the Hedgehog from Doctor Robotnik's (Eggman's) viewpoint.
