The young hippo made her prediction by selecting a bowl of fruits carved with Trump's name.
Moo Deng, whose name translates to 'bouncy pork,' has captured the hearts of many with her charming behavior at Khao Kheow Open Zoo. Her popularity soared on social media, spawning numerous memes and a range of merchandise. Now, she has ventured into the realm of political predictions, tipping the scales in favor of Trump over Democrat Kamala Harris.
In a video shared by the zoo, Moo Deng was presented with two dishes of carved fruit, each bearing the name of a candidate. The four-month-old hippo's choice for Trump has garnered significant attention, especially in the United States, where comedian Bowen Yang portrayed her in a 'Saturday Night Live' sketch. Additionally, Moo Deng outperformed both Trump and Harris in an unofficial presidential poll conducted by 'The Tonight Show,' securing 93 percent of the vote.
While the predictive abilities of hippos remain unproven, other animals have gained international fame for their prognostications, most notably Paul the Octopus. The aquatic oracle correctly predicted the outcomes of eight matches during the 2010 World Cup from his aquarium in Germany.
