A thick fog enveloped several parts of Abu Dhabi on Wednesday morning, prompting the Met department to issue red and yellow alerts. The warnings, which were raised as early as 2am, will remain in effect until 9am. Among the most affected areas were those in Abu Dhabi's Al Dhafra region. Here's a map:
Across the country, temperatures are anticipated to drop and may reach a cool 18 degrees Celsius in certain parts of Abu Dhabi. In Dubai, however, the mercury could still climb to a high of 32 degrees Celsius and dip to a low of 24 degrees Celsius. Humidity is expected to increase during the night and persist until the early hours of the next day. Foggy conditions are forecasted to return on Thursday morning in some coastal and inland areas. Waves in the Arabian Gulf will be light to moderate, while those in the Sea of Oman will be minimal.
