The Tristar Group's outstanding achievements in road safety were celebrated at the recent RoSPA Health and Safety Awards in Dubai. The Royal Society for the Prevention of Accidents (RoSPA) commended the company's exemplary practices and the proactive safety measures spearheaded by its founder. Tristar was honored with the RoSPA Gold Medal for the seventh year in a row, along with the RoSPA Fleet Safety Trophy – Middle East, and was recognized for its school-based road safety initiatives with the RoSPA Winner of Health & Safety Beyond the Workplace. In 2023, Tristar achieved a milestone of 545 million km and 132,952,860 manhours without any road fatalities or occupational diseases among its workforce, crediting its success to 'visible and felt leadership' throughout the organization. Additionally, Tristar operates the 'Kids Traffic Arena' in collaboration with the RTA's Traffic Awareness Section, a practical educational program for children in Dubai and Sharjah, aligning with the UN's Global Plan for Road Safety Decade of Action (2021-2030). The RoSPA Health and Safety Awards, now in its 68th year, is a prestigious global event with over 2,000 entries from 60 countries, attracting more than 250 industry leaders to its Dubai edition, which also featured a health and safety conference. During the conference, Eugene Mayne, Tristar's founder and group CEO, discussed the company's safety pillars – Education, Engineering, Enforcement, and Evaluation – and highlighted safety initiatives like 'Hearts and Minds' and patented fatigue detection technology. Dee Arp, chair of the RoSPA Awards judging panel, emphasized the importance of 'felt leadership' in safety culture, while Matt Cryer, head of awards at RoSPA, praised the winners for setting high industry standards.
