The UAE boasts thousands of stunning mosques, adorned with traditional Islamic designs and expansive courtyards filled with plants and trees. These sacred spaces for Muslims are set to become even greener thanks to a new initiative.

Approximately 10,000 trees will be planted in mosque courtyards following the launch of the endowment initiative 'Plant Our Mosques' by the Ministry of Climate Change and Environment and the General Authority of Islamic Affairs, Endowments, and Zakat. This initiative is part of the national 'Plant the Emirates' program, which pays tribute to the agricultural and humanitarian legacy of Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan.

The goal is to plant 10,000 trees in mosque courtyards across the UAE, promoting community involvement, improving the quality of life, and deepening the connection between people and their environment.
