UAE authorities announced on Friday that legal action will be pursued against any organization that disseminates or publishes misleading information regarding sports activities within the country. The Ministry of Sports issued this warning following the discovery that certain entities had 'announced' the formation of specific sports federations without adhering to legal protocols or securing the necessary approvals, according to a report by the state-run news agency WAM.
Those intending to establish sports clubs or federations are required to fulfill all prerequisites and adhere to the protocols outlined in the sports law and associated regulations, the ministry emphasized. 'Circumventing these procedures... could lead to legal repercussions for individuals and entities,' the ministry stated.
Additionally, the authority urged accuracy in reporting sports news and verifying the credibility of sources to prevent the publication of any information that might harm the interests of sports and the broader sports community in the UAE.
