Blizzard is unveiling a highly anticipated mount for World of Warcraft's 20th anniversary, but it has become the game's most expensive mount to date. The Trader's Gilded Brutosaur is only the second Brutosaur mount released by Blizzard and comes with a staggering price tag of $90. This mount isn't just about aesthetics; it includes practical features that allow players to check their mail or auctions while on the move. The golden harness is designed to commemorate WoW's 20th anniversary, adorned with gems representing each of the MMORPG's expansions.

This marks only the second time WoW has introduced a Brutosaur mount, following the Mighty Caravan Brutosaur released with Battle for Azeroth, which was notorious for its high cost. The Mighty Caravan Brutosaur could be bought with in-game gold, but the price was exorbitant: 5 million gold. Players have the option to purchase WoW Tokens, which can be exchanged for Battle.net credit. However, Tokens were quickly sold out this week as players scrambled to secure the Gilded Brutosaur. Each Token can be redeemed for $15 in Battle.net credit, meaning players need six Tokens to acquire the Gilded Brutosaur.

Despite the inflated pricing, the Gilded Brutosaur is expected to be slightly cheaper in gold terms compared to its predecessor, with players anticipating a cost of around 2.5 million gold for Tokens when more supply becomes available. As part of WoW's 20th anniversary festivities, the Gilded Brutosaur won't be available indefinitely—the store page notes that it will only be on sale until January 6, 2025. The celebration will also bring back some of WoW's most iconic armor, possibly alongside Game Fuel.
