Five individuals lost their lives and 15 others sustained injuries when a passenger bus veered off the road and into a ditch in the Pakistani city of Jacobabad, as reported by Ary News on Saturday.
The bus was transporting passengers from Balochistan to Punjab. In a separate incident last May, at least one person perished and over 30 were injured when a bus carrying wedding guests overturned in the same city. The accident took place at Daival Machhi village in Jacobabad district, where the wedding party's bus plunged into a ravine following a tyre burst, according to Ary News.
In Balochistan, 12 people were killed and 19 others were injured in three separate accidents earlier this week. A report by the World Bank, titled 'Public Infrastructure Trends and Gaps in Pakistan,' highlighted that Pakistan has a relatively low density of paved roads, a poor quality of railroads and airports, and only acceptable quality of seaports compared to selected comparator countries.
