Washington state authorities reported on Monday that five individuals lost their lives in a shooting incident at a residence near Seattle, with a 15-year-old boy being held in connection with the fatalities. The King County Sheriff's department confirmed that three children and two adults were among the deceased, and a girl residing in the house sustained injuries. Sheriff's department spokesperson Mike Mellis informed reporters at the scene that the suspect was apprehended by deputies without any resistance.
The relationship, if any, between the victims and the suspect remains unclear, and the sheriff's department is still investigating to uncover the motive behind the violent act. Deputies were dispatched to a home in Fall City, approximately 10 miles east of Seattle, following multiple reports of gunfire early on Monday. A neighbor with medical training provided initial aid before emergency responders arrived, according to the department.
The teenager taken into custody was transferred to the King County juvenile detention facility and is scheduled to appear in court either on Tuesday or Wednesday, as stated by the sheriff's department.
